I’m a thirty something year old man who lives in Manchester, in the north-west of the UK. I decided to start this blog when I found out that I was going to become a dad. I know, I know… this happens to people everyday and they don’t run off and start a blog about it. But I also discovered that as I started researching what to expect on the internet, that there is a lot of information and resources aimed at women and not so much for men.
Don’t get me wrong, I understand women have to carry this growing baby around for nine months, and do other hard work such as labour and breast feeding etc, but there are many fathers to be like me who also want to play an active part in the whole process. There seems to be a lack of material aimed at them. So I thought I’d do my bit to share my story and experiences with you as I go through this process. From pregnancy to labour, the good, the bad and the ugly.
I started this blog on Friday 13th December 2019. Incidentally, today is our baby’s due day. So, this, like most things in my life is left to the last minute. Luckily our baby has decided not to pop out just yet, so we’re up and running just in time.
So here we go, any day now, my life as I know it, and have always known it is about to change forever. And you’re invited to come along for the ride!
